China’s steel bar imports down 2.4 percent in January-February

In the January-February period of the current year, China’s import volumes of steel bars, angles/channels, steel plate and steel pipes/hollow profiles amounted to 160,000 mt, 50,000 mt, 1,710,000 mt and 50,000 mt, down 2.4 percent, 19.8 percent, 10.0 percent and 16.4 percent year on year, respectively, according to the monthly import and export data issued by the Chinese customs authorities.

As previously reported by SteelOrbis, in the January-February period this year China imported 1.998 million mt of finished steel, decreasing by 9.9 percent year on year.
