China’s steel bar imports decrease by 11.8 percent in H1

In the January-June period of the current year, China’s import volumes of steel bars, angles/channels, steel plate and steel pipes/hollow profiles amounted to 480,000 mt, 150,000 mt, 4.94 million mt and 160,000 mt, down 11.8 percent, 23.5 percent, 12.1 percent and 21.5 percent year on year, respectively, according to the monthly import and export data issued by the Chinese customs authorities.

As previously reported by SteelOrbis, in the January-June period China imported 5.823 million mt of finished steel, decreasing by 12.7 percent year on year.
