China’s steel bar imports decline by 12.8 percent in January-May

In the January-May period of the current year, China’s import volumes of steel bars, angles/channels, steel plate and steel pipes/hollow profiles amounted to 400,000 mt, 120,000 mt, 4.14 million mt and 140,000 mt, down 12.8 percent, 20.6 percent, 13.0 percent and 13.4 percent year on year, respectively, according to the monthly import and export data issued by the Chinese customs authorities.

As previously reported by SteelOrbis, in the January-May period China imported 4.878 million mt of finished steel, decreasing by 13.4 percent year on year.
