China’s steel bar exports down 5.7 percent in January-April

In the January-April period this year, China’s export volumes of steel bars and angles/channels amounted to 4.08 million mt and 1.08 million mt, respectively down 5.7 percent and 2.9 percent year on year, while its export volumes of steel plate and wire rod amounted to 14.07 million mt and 0.66 million mt, up 14.0 percent and 3.3 percent year on year, respectively, according to the Chinese customs authorities.

In the January-April period of the current year, China exported 23.351 million mt of finished steel, up 8.3 percent year on year, as previously announced by the Chinese customs authorities.
