China’s steel bar exports decrease by 59.1 percent in H1

In June this year, China’s export volumes of steel bars, angles/channels and wire rod amounted to 1.27 million mt, 280,000 mt and 210,000 mt, respectively declining by 74.1 percent, 55.0 percent and 1.1 percent year on year, while China’s steel plate exports totaled 4.1 million mt, rising by 1.1 percent year on year, according to the Chinese customs authorities.

In the January-June period this year, China’s export volumes of steel bars, angles/channels, wire rod and steel plate amounted to 9.72 million mt, 2.01 million mt, 1.05 million mt, and 22.85 million mt, decreasing by 59.1 percent, 25.8.0 percent, 7.3 percent and 3.0 percent, respectively, year on year.

In June this year, China exported 6.81 million mt of finished steel, down 2.44 percent month on month and decreasing by 37.75 percent year on year, while the finished steel export volume in the first six months of the year totaled 40.99 million mt, down 28 percent year on year, as announced by the Chinese customs authorities.
