China’s scrap import volume down 82 percent in Jan-Jul

In the January-July period of the current year, China’s import volumes of scrap amounted to 170,000 mt, down 82.0 percent year on year, 0.1 percentage points faster than the decline pace recorded for January-June, according to the monthly import and export data issued by the Chinese customs authorities.

In the given period, China’s export volumes of scrap amounted to 2,336 mt, down 99.3 percent year on year, with the declining pace remaining the same compared to January-June.
