China’s scrap exports total 249,510 mt in January-April

In April this year, China exported 86,982 mt of steel scrap, compared to 15,360 mt of scrap exports in April 2017, according to the monthly import and export data issued by the Chinese customs authorities. 

In the January-April period of this year, China exported 249,510 mt of scrap, compared to 16,081 mt in the same period last year.

Meanwhile, China imported 120,000 mt of scrap in April, down 45.0 percent year on year. In the January-April period, China's scrap imports totaled 580,000 mt, decreasing by 36.6 percent year on year.
