China’s retail sales of consumer goods up 8.3 percent in Q1

In the January-March period of the year, China’s total retail sales of consumer goods amounted to RMB 9.779 trillion ($1.46 trillion), up 8.3 percent year on year, as announced by China’s National Bureau of Statistics (NBS). In March alone, China’s total retail sales of consumer goods amounted to RMB 3.1726 trillion ($0.47 trillion), up 8.7 percent year on year.

In particular, in the first three months, total automotive vehicle sales in China reached a value of RMB 916.0 billion ($136.5 billion), decreasing by 3.4 percent year on year.
