China’s retail sales of consumer goods rise by nine percent in 2018

In 2018, China’s total retail sales of consumer goods amounted to RMB 38.0987 trillion ($5.56 trillion), up 9.0 percent year on year, as announced by China’s National Bureau of Statistics (NBS). In December alone, China’s total retail sales of consumer goods reached RMB 3.5893 trillion ($0.52 trillion), rising by 8.2 percent year on year.

In particular, in the first 11 months of the year, total automotive vehicle sales in China amounted to a value of RMB 3.8948 trillion ($0.57 trillion), decreasing by 2.4 percent year on year.
