In November this year, China’s rebar production amounted to 22.408 million mt, up 1.55 percent month on month, while rising by 17.7 percent year on year, with this year-on-year growth 5.8 percentage points higher than that recorded in October, mainly due to good demand and rising trend in rebar prices in the given month to stimulate rebar output.

In the January-November period this year, China's rebar production amounted to 228.683 million mt, up 18.5 percent year on year, with this increase rate 0.1 percentage points higher than that recorded in the January-October period, as announced by China’s National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).

China’s wire rod production amounted to 13.521 million mt in November, up 0.45 percent month on month, while rising by 3.1 percent year on year, with this year-on-year growth 2.6 percentage points higher than that recorded in October.

In the January-November period this year, China's wire rod production totaled 144.469 million mt, up 9.6 percent year on year, with this increase rate down 0.8 percentage points from the January-October period.

Higher output and some seasonal demand reduction have led to the start of the downtrend in December in the Chinese long steel market.
