China’s railways transport 870 million mt of goods in Q1

In the first quarter of the current year, China's railways carried 590.77 million passengers, up 8.8 percent year on year. In the months of January, February and March, China's railways respectively carried 5.76 million, 6.89 million and 7.08 million passengers per day on average, as announced by China Railway Corp. In the first quarter, China's railways transported 870 million mt of goods, down almost nine percent year on year.

In the given quarter, China's railways transported 536.21 million mt of coal, 23.40 million mt of coke and 47.48 million mt of finished steel.
