China’s producer prices 5.8% higher in April

China's National Bureau of Statistics announced that the producer price index of the country increased 5.8% year on year in April. This is the highest rate of increase in the last three months. The index had increased 5.6% in March. According to the index, crude oil costs rose 26% in April, while the coal prices increased 26%. The overall raw materials price index increased 9.9% year on year in April. The average increase of the producer price index in the first quarter was 5.6% year on year while that of the consumer price index was barely half of it.
