In December last year, China's producer price index (PPI) increased by 4.9 percent year on year and was up 0.8 percent month on month, according to data released by China's National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) on January 10. Meanwhile, in December Chinese industrial producers' purchase prices were up 5.9 percent year on year and rose by 0.8 percent compared to November 2017.
As for the average price index in the year of 2017, China's producer price index (PPI) increased by 6.3 percent year on year, while Chinese industrial producers' purchase prices were up 8.1 percent year on year.
In December last year, the PPI for capital goods increased by 6.4 percent year on year. Specifically, in December the PPI for the domestic raw material industry was up 8.1 percent, while the index for the processing industry rose by 5.5 percent, both year on year.
