Passenger vehicle retail sales in China in July this year amounted to 1.485 million units, down 15.9 percent month on month and 5.0 percent year on year, as announced by the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA). In the January-July period of the year, passenger car retail sales decreased by 8.8 percent year on year.
The CPCA stated that the abnormally high retail sales in June due to the sixth phase of implementation of national standards for the discharge of pollutants from motor vehicles exerted a negative impact on July retail sales. The CPCA forecast the production and sales of passenger vehicles in China will likely rebound in August with supply gradually matching market demand.
