China’s passenger car sales drop in Q1

China's passenger car sales dropped 7.7% year on year to 574'300 units in the first quarter of 2005, the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers said. The association said the auto market showed a slowdown in the first two months due to government's measures to cool auto sales; however, sales increased in March. China's passenger car sales rose 72.8% month on month to 256'000 units in March.
