China’s passenger car output and sales both increase in October

In October this year, the total passenger car output in China amounted to 1,263,800 units, up 1.1 percent year on year, as announced by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM). Meanwhile, China’s passenger car sales in the given month totaled 1,249,300 units, up 11.7 percent compared to the same month of last year. October also witnessed the smallest gap between output and sales of passenger cars year to date.
 
In the January-October period of this year, total passenger car output in China amounted to 12,552,000 units, up 7.3 percent, while China’s passenger car sales in this period totaled 11,702,500 units, up 5.9 percent, both year on year.
