In May this year, China produced 51,000 new energy vehicles, up 38.2 percent year on year, including 44,000 pure electric passenger cars and 7,000 plug-in hybrid electric vehicles, rising by 52.5 percent and down 9.3 percent year on year, respectively, according to the latest data issued by China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM).
In the January-May period of the current year, China’s new energy vehicle output amounted to 147,000 units, up 11.7 percent on year-on-year basis, including 122,000 pure electric passenger cars and 25,000 plug-in hybrid electric vehicles, rising by 22.8 percent and 22.0 percent year on year, respectively.
