China’s metcoke output soars in May

According to the latest statistics, China's total metcoke output increased 27.2% year on year to 19 million tons in May 2005. Total met coke production through the first five months amounted to 90.91 million tons, a 30.3% year-on-year increase. Shanxi province produced 5.84 million tons of metcoke in May, the most among all provinces in China. For the first five months, Shanxi's metcoke production soared 30.1% year-on-year to 28.3 million tons. Hebei province also posted strong numbers. The province produced 2.01 million tons of metcoke in May, up 45.75% year on year. Hebei's total metcoke production for the first five months increased 55.1% year on year to 6.21 million tons.
