German plantmaker SMS Meer has announced that Jiangsu Province-based Chinese steelmaker Jiangsu Tianhuai Steel Pipe has recently commissioned its new 20" premium quality finishing (PQF) tube rolling plant, after a construction period of around two years.
The new PQF tube plant supplied by SMS Meer is the biggest continuous tube rolling plant in the world and can produce seamless tubes with diameters up to 508 mm. The plant has a production capacity of 500,000 mt per year.
Tianhuai is a joint venture between the state-owned Tianjin Pipe Group Corporation (TPCO) and Huaigang Special Steel, a subsidiary of the eastern China-based Shagang Group.
