China’s iron ore imports increase by 6.3 percent in January-October

In October this year, China’s imports of iron ore and iron ore concentrate amounted to 79.49 million mt, down 22.7 percent month on month and decreasing by 1.6 percent year on year, while in the January-October period this year China’s imports of iron ore and iron ore concentrate totaled 896.23 million mt, up 6.3 percent year on year, as announced by the Chinese customs authorities on November 8.

In October this year, China imported 0.95 million mt of finished steel, down 23.4 percent month on month and decreasing by 12.0 percent year on year. In the January-October period, China’s imports of finished steel totaled 10.96 million mt, rising by 0.5 percent year on year.
