China’s iron ore imports increase by 5.4 percent in January-February

In February this year, China’s imports of iron ore and iron ore concentrate amounted to 84.268 million mt, down 16.02 percent month on month and increasing by 0.94 percent year on year, as announced by the Chinese customs authorities on March 8. In the January-February period of the year, China’s imports of iron ore and iron ore concentrate amounted to 184.743 million mt, up 5.4 percent year on year.

In February, China imported 1.027 million mt of finished steel, down 13.8 percent month on month and decreasing by 5.8 percent year on year. In the January-February period of the year, China imported 2.218 million mt of finished steel, up 1.6 percent year on year.
