China’s iron ore imports edge down in January-October

In October this year, China’s imports of iron ore and iron ore concentrate amounted to 75.52 million mt, down 12.3 percent month on month and decreasing by 4.87 percent year on year, while in the January-October period this year China’s imports of iron ore and iron ore concentrate totaled 774.51 million mt, down 0.5 percent year on year, as announced by the Chinese customs authorities on November 8.

In October this year, China imported 950,000 mt of finished steel, down 5.94 percent month on month and decreasing by 12.04 percent year on year. In the January-October period, China’s imports of finished steel totaled 10.68 million mt, declining by 11.7 percent year on year.
