China’s iron ore imports decrease by 0.7 percent in January-July

In July this year, China’s imports of iron ore and iron ore concentrate amounted to 89.95 million mt, up 8.1 percent month on month and increasing by 4.3 percent year on year, as announced by the Chinese customs authorities on August 8. In the January-July period of this year, China’s imports of iron ore and iron ore concentrate totaled 620.65 million mt, down 0.7 percent year on year.

In July, China imported 1.03 million mt of finished steel, down 1.25 percent month on month and increasing by 4.8 percent year on year. In the January-July period of this year, China imported 7.7 million mt of finished steel, down 1.1 percent year on year.
