China’s iron ore imports decrease by 0.5 percent in January-October

In October this year, China’s imports of iron ore and iron ore concentrate amounted to 88.399 million mt, down 5.43 percent month on month and increasing by 11.2 percent year on year, as announced by the Chinese customs authorities on November 8. In the January-October period of the current year, China’s imports of iron ore and iron ore concentrate totaled 891.687 million mt, down 0.5 percent year on year.

In October, China imported 1.138 million mt of finished steel, down 5.48 percent month on month and increasing by 19.8 percent year on year. In the January-October period of this year, China imported 11.103 million mt of finished steel, up 1.3 percent year on year.
