China’s iron ore imports decrease by 0.1 percent in January-March

In March this year, China’s imports of iron ore and iron ore concentrate amounted to 85.788 million mt, up 1.8 percent month on month and decreasing by 10.2 percent year on year, as announced by the Chinese customs authorities on April 13. In the January-March period of this year, China’s imports of iron ore and iron ore concentrate amounted to 270.508 million mt, down 0.1 percent year on year.

In March, China imported 1.234 million mt of finished steel, up 20.2 percent month on month and decreasing by 5.1 percent year on year. In the January-March period of the year, China imported 3.451 million mt of finished steel, down 0.8 percent year on year.
