China's iron and steel industry posts decrease in Jan-Sept profit

In January-September of the current year, the large and medium-sized industrial enterprises in China achieved RMB 3.52 trillion ($ 564.82 billion) profit, down 1.8 percent year on year. In September, the companies registered a profit of RMB 464.3 billion ($ 74.42 billion), up 7.8 percent year on year, according to China's National Bureau of Statistics.

Accordingly, 26 of 41 industries registered increase in profit, while 14 sees decrease and one posts loss in the given period. In January-September this year, iron and steel industry sees a 68 percent year on year decrease in its profit. Automobile manufacturing industry registers a ten percent increase in its profit, while coking and nuclear fuel processing industry posts loss for the period.
