China’s industrial profit rises 28.3 percent in Jan-July

According to China's National Bureau of Statistics, in the first seven months of 2011, all large industrial enterprises in China, including the private enterprises with the annual operating income exceeding RMB 5 million ($782,000) and all state-owned enterprises, achieved a total net profit of RMB 2800.4 billion ($438 billion), up 28.3 percent year on year. At the same time, the income from the primary businesses of these enterprises reached RMB 45.85 trillion ($7.17 trillion), rising by 29.8 percent from the same period of last year.

Among the total of 39 industries, only two industries registered year-on-year decreases in their net profits. The largest increase was registered in the ferrous metal industry.
