China’s HRC imports up 214 percent in September

China's hot rolled coil export volume in September stood at 347,100 mt, down 972,900 mt or 73.7 percent year on year, totaling a value of $192 million, down $1.194 billion or 86.16 percent compared with the same month last year. The average export price was $552.86/mt. Total January-September HR coil exports reached 1.63 million mt, down 7.53 million mt or 82.2 percent, amounting to a value of $1.039 billion, down $7.106 billion or 87.25 percent year on year.

Meanwhile, the country's HRC imports in September came to 438,700 mt, up 299,100 mt or 214.26 percent year on year, totaling a value of $305 million, up $132 million or 75.74 percent compared with the same month last year. The average HR coil import price was $696.33/mt. Total HR coil imports in the January-September period reached 3.6827 million mt, up 2.22 million mt or 152.39 percent, amounting to $2.257 billion in value, up $622 million or 38.31 percent year on year.
