According to the latest report issued by the China Household Electrical Appliance Research Institute (CHEARI), market sales of household electrical appliances in China amounted to RMB 174.5 billion ($24.7 billion) in the third quarter of the year, down 4.2 percent year on year, while the country’s household electrical appliance exports amounted to RMB 73.0 billion ($10.4 billion) in the given quarter, up 1.7 percent year on year.

In the first quarter of the year, domestic sales of household electrical appliance had indicated a year-on-year decline of 3.1 percent, while in the first half of the year a year-on-year decrease of 2.1 percent was observed, reflecting a slowdown in the decreasing sales trend. However, slower macro-economic development in China has started to exert a negative impact on the domestic household appliance industry, which is expected to face a tough period of adjustment in the future.
