China's GDP increases by 6.8 percent in Q1

China's gross domestic product (GDP) indicated a year-on-year increase of 6.8 percent to RMB 19.8783 trillion ($3.16 trillion) in the first quarter of the year, as announced by China’s National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).

In the first quarter this year, China’s domestic primary, secondary and tertiary industries contributed RMB 890.4 billion ($141.7 billion), RMB 7.7451 trillion ($1.23 trillion) and RMB 11.2428 trillion ($1.79 trillion) to the country’s GDP, rising by 3.2 percent, 6.3 percent and 7.5 percent on year-on-year basis, respectively.
