China’s fixed-asset investment up 22.8%

China's fixed-asset investment rose 22.8% year on year to RMB 1.1 trillion (around $132 billion) in the first three months of 2005, said the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS). During the same period of 2004, China had reported a growth rate of 43%. Alone in March, fixed-asset investment totaled RMB 481.5 billion, up 26% from a year earlier. Urban fixed-asset investment rose 25.3% year on year to RMB 903.7 billion in the first three months while rural fixed-asset investment amounted to RMB 196.2 billion, up 12.7%.
