China’s finished steel output up 4.9 percent in September

According to the figures released by China’s National Bureau of Statistics, in September this year the aggregate outputs of crude steel, pig iron and finished steel in China amounted to 57.946 million mt, 52.896 million mt and 80.437 million mt, up 0.6 percent, 1.6 percent and 4.9 percent respectively, all year on year.
 
In the January-September period of this year, the aggregate output of crude steel in China totaled 542.343 million mt, up 1.7 percent compared to the same period last year. Meanwhile, in the given period China produced 502.778 million mt of pig iron, increasing by 2.7 percent, while overall output of finished steel in China reached 708.283 million mt, up 5.7 percent, both year on year.
