China’s finished steel exports up 26.3 percent in Jan-Feb

China exported 4.8 million mt of finished steel in February this year, up 13.2 percent, while it exported 11.57 million mt of finished steel in the January-February period, rising by 26.3 percent, both year on year, according to data issued by the Chinese customs authorities.

In February, China imported 0.98 million mt of finished steel, increasing by 8.8 percent, while its finished steel imports in January-February amounted to 2.34 million mt, up 16.8 percent, year on year.

China imported 61.24 million mt of iron ore in February, rising by 8.5 percent, and 148.08 million mt of iron ore in the first two months of the year, up 21.8 percent, both on year-on-year basis. In February this year, China exported 0.55 million mt of coke, up 358 percent, while it exported 1.29 million mt of coke in January-February, increasing by 664.9 percent, both year on year.
