Speaking at an industry forum on November 10, Qu Xiuli, vice chairman of the China Iron and Steel Association (CISA), affirmed that China’s steel industry will insist on environment-friendly development and will promote energy conservation and emissions reduction.

According to Qu Xiuli, in the January-September period of the current year China’s comprehensive energy consumption per metric ton of crude steel produced was down 2.77 percent year on year. He went on to say that China’s steel prices will likely move on a slightly fluctuating trend in the coming period, while for the full year of 2018 China’s finished steel exports will likely decline on year-on-year basis to 70.0 million mt.
