According to the figures released by China’s General Administration of Customs, in the January-October period of this year China’s total external trade value amounted to $3.16157 trillion, increasing by 6.3 percent year on year.
In particular, China’s total export value in the given period was $1.6709 trillion, increasing by 7.8 percent year on year, while the country’s total import value was $1.49067 trillion, up 4.6 percent compared to the same period last year. Accordingly, China’s trade surplus in the first 10 months of the current year totaled $180.23 billion.
In October alone, China’s total external trade value was $319.15 billion, increasing by 7.3 percent year on year, with this growth rate up one percentage point compared to that recorded in September. In particular, China’s total export value in October was $175.57 billion, increasing by 11.6 percent year on year, with this increase rate up 1.7 percentage points compared to September. Meanwhile, the total import value was $143.58 billion, increasing by 2.4 percent year on year. Thus, China’s external trade surplus in October was $31.99 billion.
