In February this year, excavator sales in China decreased to 9,280 units, down 50.5 percent year on year, while decreasing by 6.66 percent month on month, as announced by the China Construction Machinery Association (CCMA). China’s excavator sales saw declines in February due to the coronavirus, while sales are expected to see some improvement in March due to the resumption of production by downstream industry.

In February, excavator sales in the domestic market amounted to 6,909 units, down 60 percent year on year, while sales to the export market totaled 2,371 units, up 62.5 percent year on year.

Market analysts have indicated that the resumption of production and construction activities in most provinces and regions of China amid effective control of the coronavirus will exert a positive impact on excavator sales in the coming period.
