China’s CPI up 2.7% in March

China's National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) disclosed that the country's consumer price index (CPI) rose 2.7% year on year in March 2005. The March CPI is lower than the 3.9% rise recorded in February. China's urban CPI rose 2.3% year on year in March while rural CPI increased 3.4%. In the first quarter of 2005, CPI saw a year-on-year rise of 2.8%.
