China's Ministry of Commerce (MOC) announced on Tuesday that an anti-dumping (AD) investigation into carbon steel fasteners imported from the EU is extended for further 6 months.

A statement publicized on the ministry's website said: "Since the situation in this case is quite special and complicated, the MOC decided to extend the investigation by six months to June 29, 2010 according to the Article No. 26 in the AD Regulations of the People's Republic of China."

The MOC started the AD probe into EU carbon steel fasteners on December 29, 2008, after an application by the fastener branch of the China General Machine Components Industry Association on behalf of Chinese fastener producers.
