At a press briefing held by China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs on July 4, ministry spokesman Lu Kang stated that the current year marks the 15th anniversary of the establishment of the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and the EU, adding that both parties will hold the 20th China-EU Leaders’ Meeting in mid-July when the leaders will have an in-depth exchange of views on the development of China-EU relations and major issues of common interest.

As for whether both parties will issue a strong joint statement against the trade policies of US President Trump at a summit later this month, Lu Kang said one-time dialogue may not solve all problems, while going on to say that as long as both parties stick to the principle of mutual benefit and a win-win outcome, China-EU cooperation will surely be able to go far and steadily.
