China to issue export licenses for some steel products

China is to begin applying export license on the export of certain steel products as of May 20, 2007. Certain categories of steel product exported from China are to be managed via export licenses as of May 20, 2007, based on the Administrative Measures Regarding Licenses for Export of Goods (No.28, 2004). 2. Companies exporting steel products under export licenses should apply to their local authorities for export licenses, based on the Administrative Measures Regarding Licenses for Export of Goods. . 3. The steel export licenses only cover general trading, and exclude exports for international projects. 4. The export licenses for steel products listed under the announcement are to be subject to “one lot one license”. Foreign-funded enterprises are to be subject to the Administrative Measures Regarding Licenses for Export of Goods. 5.
