China revises GDP growth rate for 2017 down to 6.8 percent

China’s National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) has announced a revision of the growth rate of the country’s gross domestic product (GDP) for 2017 from 6.9 percent to 6.8 percent, giving a GDP for the year of RMB 82.0754 trillion ($11.98 trillion).

In particular, in 2017, China’s domestic primary, secondary and tertiary industries contributed RMB 6.21 trillion ($0.91 trillion), RMB 33.2743 trillion ($4.86 trillion) and RMB 42.5912 trillion ($6.22 trillion) to the country’s GDP, rising by 4.0 percent, 5.9 percent and 7.9 percent on year-on-year basis, respectively.
