Chile reports increase in unemployment rate

Based on the data released by the Chile's National Statistics Institute (INE), the country's unemployment rate rose to 7.9% in January-March 2005 period. The economic sectors with the most job growth in the past 12 months were construction, retail and financial services. Meanwhile, industrial output rose 2.3% in March. This is the lowest production growth in the last one year. Industrial output increased 3.5% in February and 5.3% in January.
