Sichuan Province-based Chinese steelmaker Chengdu Plate Co., a subsidiary of Pangang Group, has announced that it has developed production of 2.3 mm x 1,250 mm hot dip galvanized (HDG) plate.
Market research indicates that for HDG products of thicknesses of 2.1 mm and above China is mainly dependent on imports. In order to meet domestic demand for such thicknesses, in April this year Chengdu Plate Co. developed production of 2.1 mm HDG plate, while the company produced its first batches of 2.3 mm HDG plate on June 12.
