Chelyabinsk Metallurgical Plant, a subsidiary of Russian mining and steel producing group Mechel, has announced that it has obtained DNV GL certification for its bulk ingots. The DNV GL certification will enable the plant to supply its bulk ingots to the European Union without hindrance. These products are highly in demand in various engineering industries.

The certification was granted following an audit held by experts from the leading international certification body DNV GL. During the examination of its production facilities, the plant proved that its bulk ingots made from carbon, carbon-manganese and alloy steels were compliant with DNV GL’s high standard requirements.

Chelyabinsk Metallurgical Plant started production of 50-mt ingots from specialty steels in summer 2017.
