Chelyabinsk Metallurgical Plant launches new shearing press

Chelyabinsk Metallurgical Plant, a subsidiary of Russian mining and steel producing group Mechel, has launched a new shearing press. The shearing press is produced by Czech company Zdaz and is used for the cutting of oversize scrap. The company has invested Ruble 145 million ($5.15 million) in the project.

After the commissioning of the new shearing press, the company will be able to increase the volume of the conditioned scrap for steelmaking and will provide mills with a charge mixture of optimal sizes.
