Anhui Province-based Chinese steelmaker Changjiang Iron and Steel Co., Ltd started construction work on September 10 on its 140 mt electric arc furnace (EAF) project, as announced by its parent company Anhui-based Maanshan Iron and Steel.

The project in question include one 140 mt electric furnace, one 140 mt LF refining furnace and one billet continuous casting machine with an annual capacity of 1.1 million mt of continuous cast billet.

In order to construct a more environment-friendly electric arc furnace, the company has eliminated two 40 mt converters, while aiming to develop circular economy and promote sustainable development.
