The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) has initiated a reinvestigation of the normal values and export prices of certain stainless steel wire originating in or exported from the Republic of South Korea, Switzerland and the United States of America, and the amounts of subsidy of certain stainless steel wire originating in or exported from India.
This reinvestigation is part of the CBSA's enforcement of the Canadian International Trade Tribunal's (CITT) injury finding of July 30, 2004.
Exporters from the above mentioned countries wishing to cooperate in the current reinvestigation are required to provide relevant information to the CBSA's Exporter Request for Information by June 23, 2008.
In the case where exporters of the subject merchandises from South Korea, Switzerland and the US do not provide sufficient information to determine specific normal values or do not permit verification of information submitted, an 18 percent antidumping duty on the subject goods will be imposed. In addition, in the case where the government of India or Indian exporters fail to provide complete and accurate information enabling the CBSA to determine the specific subsidy amount, countervailing duties at the rate of Rupees 13,857/mt ($325.328/mt) will be applied on the subject goods imported from India.
This reinvestigation is expected to be concluded on or before October 8, 2008.
