Carpenter Technology hikes prices

The Specialty Alloys Operations unit of Carpenter Technology increased the base prices of all stainless alloys by 4-7%, according to a company report released yesterday. Carpenter also raised the base prices of premium-melted alloys in all product forms by 6-10%. The price increases are effective immediately on all new orders. No change in the raw material surcharges has been announced. The company cited strong demand and increased manufacturing costs as the reasons behind its decision to increase prices.
