Capacity replacement details issued for Xusteel Group

The Department of Industry and Information Technology of China’s Jiangsu Province has issued the capacity replacement details relating to two new 2,050 cubic meters blast furnaces and two new 120 mt converters being built by Jiangsu Province-based Zhongxin Iron and Steel in Xinyi City, Jiangsu Province, including 3.485 million mt of iron-smelting capacity and 2.7 million mt of steelmaking capacity. The construction of blast furnaces and converters will start in June of 2019, while will put into operation in June of 2021.

The iron-smelting capacities to be eliminated include 1.39 million mt from Jiangsu Province-based Chenggang Iron and Steel, 1.38 million mt from Jiangsu Province-based Penggang Iron and Steel, 1.45 million mt from Jiangsu Province-based Taifa Special Steel Co. and 137,500 mt from Jiangsu Province-based Rongyang Iron and Steel.

Meanwhile, the steelmaking capacities to be eliminated include 1.7 million mt from Jiangsu Province-based Penggang Iron and Steel and 1.7 million mt from Jiangsu Province-based Taifa Special Steel.
