Capacity replacement details issued for Xinjiang Kunyu Iron and Steel

The Department of Industry and Information Technology of China’s Xinjiang Autonomous Region has issued the capacity replacement details relating to the elimination of one 450 cubic meter blast furnace and one 50 mt converter belonging to Xinjiang Autonomous Region-based Kunyu Iron and Steel, which represent a total of 500,000 mt of iron-smelting capacity and 700,000 mt of steelmaking capacity.

Accordingly, the elimination of old iron-smelting capacity will be transferred to the 7.0 million mt capacity quality special steel project of Hubei Province-based Jingshenglan Metallurgical Technology Co. At the same time, the old steelmaking capacity in question will be transferred to the 8.0 million mt capacity quality special steel project of Guangdong Province-based Jinshenglan Metallurgical Technology Co.
